July is busy with festivals and holiday weekends; late August starts to slow down. The trails are quieter. Tee times open up. The wineries along Route 151 have their patios back. It’s the same beautiful place with a few less elbows and honestly, it’s when the mountain feels most like itself.
Labor Day, the unofficial close
Labor Day weekend sends summer out properly: craft beer tastings, sunset chairlift rides, and a mountain market full of handmade goods and food. It’s a lovely, low-key weekend, and one of the easiest ways to sample what the community here is like.
